This article perfectly articulates my sentiments on the importance of teaching/modeling digital literacy for ours students. This is not just the responsibility of the division ITRT or your technology instructors; rather, it has to be incorporated and practiced across the curriculum.
Digital literacy is such a complicated subject matter – you cannot pigeonhole it into one unit of study. Our students careers may depend on their ability to respond/collaborate/participate appropriately and professional in the virtual workplace.
Here are the top 10 valued workplace skills as defined by Johnson and Wales University. I could not agree more with this list and use it as a guide in developing lesson plans for all of my classes.
