I came across the idea in my Twitter feed this morning (http://bit.ly/14phpkL ) and I was quite intrigued.
What made it even more exciting were the principles behind the event:
1. Core Belief 1: All parents have dreams for their children and want the best for them
2. Core Belief 2: All parents have the capacity to support their children's learning
3. Core Belief 3: Parents and school staff should be equal partners
4. Core Belief 4: The responsibility for building partnerships between school and home rests primarily with school staff,
especially school leaders

So, as I set off on my journey for self-improvement and growth this summer, this is definitely an event I want to develop for the start of the 2013 school year. I want it to be unique to my school setting, but one that will invite the parents to my room and make them feel not only welcome, but also comfortable/confident/empowered with the technology tools that are used in our instructional process.
